Danza Argentina Op. 2 by A. Ginastera
Danza Argentina Opus 2 is a very unique piece that I choose to play. It is a piece that is not Classical, Baroque, nor modern, and I like it because of how unique it is. The rhythm of the first movement has a fast pace, because it is a dance and has a more modern and minimalist melody.
Variations on a Theme by Corelli in the style of Tartini, F. Kreisler
This piece showcases the virtuosity of a musician and I was honored to be able to perform it for an audience at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Kreisler wrote this piece in the style of his idol Tartini.
Sweeter Than Roses
This song was my first introduction to opera music about 2 years ago. The process of learning this song was difficult, I never fully got it at first. After having more experience with opera i decided to go back to Sweeter Than Roses to see my improvement since than.
Violin Sonata No. 2 in A Minor BMW 1003: Andante by J. S. Bach
Bach’s Andante consists of a flowing melody in apparent conflict with the persistent steady bass quarters, where a third and fourth voice enters from time to time.
Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 Friska by F. Liszt
This is a fun, yet deceptively difficult piece, and a lot of kids might have been introduced to it in a Tom & Jerry Episode. In one of the measures, Tom's pinky stretches out to reach the notes; it's depicted in a comical way, but in reality, it's a difficult task to perform!
Partita in A minor for solo flute, Sarabande and Bourrée Angloise, by J. Sebastian Bach
Sarabande and Bourreé Angloise are the third and fourth movements of the Partita, respectively. This piece is one that is performed by one person and one person only. As such, one person must produce both the melody and the accompaniment.
Till There Was You from the Music Man
I have loved The Music Man since I was 7 years old and was lucky enough to be cast in the play as Amaryllis when I was 8. All the songs of that performance were so fun, but I fell in love with Till There Was You. I listened to every version ever recorded and even found it was recorded by Ray Charles and the Beatles. I'm honored to perform a portion of this song!
Night and Day (arr. J. Pass) by C. Porter
Joe Pass is one of my guitar heroes. I’ve been amazed by his album Virtuoso and his ability to play solo jazz guitar. For this song, “Night and Day” by Cole Porter, Pass took a famous jazz standard and made it sound as if multiple guitars are playing.
Nocturne in E-flat Major by Chopin
This piece is Nocturne in E-flat Major by Chopin. Chopin, a master of Romantic music, depicts a dreamy night with this classic song. With a harmonious melody and use of dynamics, this song captures the juxtaposition feeling of anticipation with calmness.
Scottish Fantasy in E-flat Major Op. 46 Mvt 4 Finale: Allegro guerriero by Bruch
The Scottish Fantasy by Max Bruch is a fantasy based around traditional Scottish folk melodies. In the 4th movement specifically, the piece is composed around an arrangement of a old traditional Scots tune called, "Hey Tuttie Tatie", which is a part of a patriotic Scottish anthem called "Scots Wha Hae".
Flute Sonata in b minor, Presto by Bach
Studying music has taught me valuable lessons about the learning process and tenacity. Technical proficiency is a given and requires committed and sensible practice. Music requires thoughtful consideration of many aspects of a work ranging from the technical to the expressive in order to bring it to life.
Homesick by D. Lipa
This is a cover of the song “Homesick” by Dua Lipa which I sung to a karaoke track. I have been singing for a long time, and while this may not be my absolute best work, I am proud of the first verse especially. I first discovered this song after watching a contestant on The Voice sing it, and I loved it immediately. It is such a beautiful song and I hope I did it justice!
Someone Like You by Adele
When I was at a camp this past summer, I had the opportunity to use the camp’s recording studio for a one-hour session. I jumped at the chance, recruiting my friend to accompany my vocals on the piano.
The Variations on a Rococo Theme, Op. 33, by P. Tchaikovsky
Mimicking the musical styles of Rostropovich and showing the greater contrasting expressions found in romantic era pieces, I aimed to incorporate the musical skills of my voice and my interpretation that still fit in Tchaikovsky’s work reflecting rococo era music.
Everybody Wants to Rule the World
This is my solo for my high school's coffee house performance. I have high functioning autism and sensory processing disorder. I had huge speech delays when I was little. I love to sing and perform. My friend and swim teammate Michael was my pianist. I loved rocking out for my friends and family.

This performance of Phoenix's "1901" was performed by the 2nd Period Modern Band Class (Limits) at the Winter Concert in Balboa High School (Dec 12, 2023). Modern Band provides beginning to advanced instruction of skills necessary to play guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, and vocals (Winds and Strings with at least 2 years experience only).
Sonata No. 1, Adagio by Bach
The Adagio from Bach's Violin Sonata No. 1 possesses two different major types of notes: the big chords (the pillars) and the smaller fast notes (the fillegrie).
Prelude in G Sharp Minor by S. Rachmaninoff
My interpretation of this piece is virtuosic and emotional. A lot of practice went into different aspects of this piece. The piece is very technically challenging and requires a lot of nuance. I spent a lot of time finding out what I want the piece to sound like.
