A Shadow of the Evening

Leela C.

  • I wanted to write a piece about the complexities of human beings and how the imagination often takes over our inner lives. I was inspired by Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw and wanted to capture James’ lyrical and poetic imagery. The mystery of the unknown has always intrigued me, and the idea that it is always present in human consciousness is one I like to wrestle with in my own writing. I hope that A Shadow of the Evening communicates this and the intrigue of the human spirit to the readers.

  • To me, creativity means embracing originality not only in what I create but in my own life. I think that creativity is specific to everyone, and one of my favorite things is seeing how others express themselves through their art and in their daily lives.
