Conflagration

Pointallism/ Black point microns

  • Female rage is both a last resort and a fundamental right to become one’s own savior, but at the cost of becoming the villain. The world is full of women being told to accept and even be thankful for the attention they receive, regardless if it is damaging or even violent. Though my interest sprang from my own experience, I expanded my investigation for this piece through films, songs, and conversations with others to educate myself about the myriad of ways rage can manifest itself. I created my own reference photo and built processes that reflected my experience. I channeled the power and violence of fire to regain the power that is routinely taken from women. I used pointillism because the meticulous process lends itself to the slow burn of the subject matter.

  • The bounds to one’s imagination is limitless and necessary to help evolve a community. Adding on, creativity to me entails pushing the boundaries of society by critiquing and offering new insights. Being able to be creativity has given me an outlet to create the things I cannot put into words.
