Dragon Divergence

  • I wanted to show my two clashing roots, so I drew them as highly contrasting dragons. Although the two sides seem completely opposite, they share many similarities, which is akin to the message I attempt to portray in the piece. Additionally, I added a self-portrait in the middle, tying together the two halves. I attempted to encapsulate the mixed race experience, and, more broadly, the feelings of many in America. I attempted this piece on a 10.5 inch x 14 inch paper.

  • To me, creativity means being able to properly express one’s ideas and feelings to others and the world in a clear manner, while also being able to think of and imagine anything the heart desires.
