Nón Hoa

Samantha T.

Origami Paper, Beads

  • ”Nón Hoa” is a representation of my Vietnamese heritage, intertwining the traditional leaf hat (nón lá) and the beauty of flowers (hoa). The ”nón lá” represents resilience and a deep connection to the Vietnamese landscape. In this piece, I explore the relationship between tradition and nature, using origami paper to craft delicate floral shapes that symbolize the vibrancy of Vietnamese life.

  • Creativity can mean anything and is very subjective. It can be a way to express things that cannot be said with words. It doesn’t just have to be drawing and painting. The art of “throwing out trash” or something unconventional can still be seen as an art form.
