The Nest

  • ”The Nest” is a physical portrayal of the chaos in the mind. When I’m overthinking or overloaded, I seem to neglect some of my mind and will unintentionally reflect this on my bedroom: throwing clothes on the floor, objects accumulating on tables, the wrinkled bed sheets and twisted up blanket. That’s why this piece is called “The Nest,” it is an overflowing nest of my thoughts. The fairy lights on the top right casts the room in a pretty glow and evens out the disarray on the left. This is the saving grace in the sea of thoughts, it could be a reassurance, the melody of a good song, or the taste of a cold popsicle after a long day. Overall, “The Nest” is a reflection of the mind. The disorganized thoughts and emotions lump together in a space to give it a chaotic and distinct personality.

  • To me, creativity simply means to have the spirit of creating. To gather the resources and the imagination and being able to express that on paper. It means not following expectations or strict guidelines and letting the mind flow free, it means translating emotions and passion into colors on paper.
