This piece was created from a photo taken in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco, close to my home. I thought that it captured a visceral moment and experience in my life, witnessing a man only sheltered by his cardboard box. I decided to paint this piece, leaving it raw and unfinished in order to capture the grittiness and discomfort of the man’s situation and of the nature of being homeless. Is a modified interpretation of photograph from @mitchellfunk.

Creativity has allowed humanity to flourish, constantly being the cornerstone and key facet of every culture throughout history. I believe creativity to be the ultimate means of expression, where the artist can manipulate and represent their and anybody’s voices, ideas, and identity through any medium imaginable.
