A Mind Like Yours

  • When approaching the concept for this film, my crew and I wanted to put our everything into it. From writing to production, we made sure to out all of our knowledge to its most efficient use, honing our skills with each step of the process. The biggest breakthroughs, surprisingly, came when we were crafting the shotlist, in that we found what it really meant to create emotion with shots through motion, composition, and color. We were using new equipment for the first time, and couldn't have been more excited. To call out a shot in particular, the 'oner' after the protagonist wakes up after sleeping, we wanted to do something that we've never seen any other students even attempt, but we wanted to do it in a way that felt important to the story. The editing stage was the most fun, in that we crafted a full soundscape for every scene, from foley to a comprehensive score, even including an original piece at the end (the somber instrumental at the and and over the credits). This piece was one that pioneered a lot of out own individual talents, and neither of us would be in our current states without this one.

  • For me, creativity has always been an outlet for my indescribable thoughts. The art I create expresses the emotions I feel, and it reveals the deeper meaning of what I stand for. Honing my creativity is one of the aspects of life that keeps me running, and it's a part of me that is here to stay.
