• Artist Statement

  For this piece, I love to capture different components of texture: skin, hair, and fabric. The face expression gives emotion and thought whereas the tightly closed eyelids brings out anger and stress. The purpose of the long eyelashes is to attract others and the symbol could also mean beauty. One important detail is the sweater, I imagine how it felt so itchy wearing the top especially around the neck. From my point of view, the person feels like they are itching to speak out from their silence.

• Creative Statement

  Being creative allows me to express my feelings through art pieces. We have our ups and downs which are always a good sign for all us to cope and find ways to release stress. Art is basically my therapy.
