My artwork is a graphite drawing of my dog Fluffy. I created this art piece when I took an advanced art class in school. Our assignment was to create one final art piece using any medium of our choice, and I chose graphite, since I decided it would represent Fluff the best--since he is a white, fluffy dog. This graphite drawing captures the gentle and loving yet energetic nature of my dog, a Maltese-Poodle. I focused on the softness and fluffiness of his fur and the warmth and joy in his eyes, as well as his ”smile” which conveys to perfection his loving and energetic personality. I chose to utilize almost only detailed shading as I believe shading was the best technique that would make his soft fur appear hyper realistic. This artwork holds deep personal meaning, as it immortalizes the unique, loving, and fun personality of my dog Fluffy.
