For this piece I wanted to explore being a woman in terms of domesticity, familial duty, and confinement. I have often seen women role models in my life who, despite being some of the strongest women I know, have been limited by the culture they were born into in terms of autonomy. This piece is about the women in my life who I have seen torn down, disrespected, and gaslit by everyone, and have nevertheless picked themselves back up while pushing the anger down. During the 1500s people believed that petunias were a demonic symbol because they harboured anger and resentment. My name choice for this piece alludes to fragility, misunderstanding, and a subtle sort of power.

To me, creativity in art not only means finding new means to convey messages, but also in a way that makes people think in new ways and see different perspectives. I feel most proud of myself when I am creating things on issues and feelings I am passionate about.
