The incredible resilience of Giant sequoia trees inspired me to create this piece to tell their story. To achieve this, I played with light and shadow to breathe life into the scene. By painting with gouache I created vivid forests, blazing fires, and lush greenery thanks to its saturated pigments, replicating the lifting feeling I felt when walking through the giant sequoia forest myself. I want my work to feel the living energy of the woods, ultimately emphasizing that nature always finds a way of surviving.

Creativity to me means to think without limits. It means to try something new, even if it might fail. For me, creativity means to trust your gut- despite what everyone else had to say. It means to be daring enough to create something new.
