My piece was inspired by the word serendipity, which means “happy accident” or finding unexpected beauty. I believe my art piece is truly serendipitous because of it’s unintentional look and collage-like appearance. I created my piece with newspaper, cardboard, tape, paper, gouache, and tempera paint. I first had the idea for this piece when I began to doodle on the newspaper I was using to dry my paint brush. I thought about its unique paint strokes, opaqueness and originality. I loved the way it looked and I wanted to expand it. I believe art can be anything you find beauty in.

To me creativity means letting one’s unique imagination run wild, bringing new ideas to life and executing them in original ways. creativity means being different and unalike in all fields.
