This is a piece I wrote for the Marin MOCA Ekphrastic challenge in my Creative Writing class, where we picked a piece of art and wrote something inspired by it.

I’ve always written poetry when I feel deep emotion.

My poem is about a friend I was very close too.

Hearsay is a piece about rumor, truth, and the misunderstanding of justice.

The story of a kid chasing their dreams, going through the thick and thins of life, choosing their own path, eventually hit stops or risky situations, but they continue until the end, enjoying the journey they had.

”Migration” is a poem about my grandmother and also, by extension, my Chinese American identity.

This is an old piece of work from last year revised and I sadly had to cut down the length of it in order to fit the word limit for this submission.
