One of my favorite expressions to capture in a painting is love, which is what I did in my newest piece, "Bonded," featuring a brother and sister tiger in a very special moment. These two big cats clearly trust and love each other, so I painted them with that in mind, keeping the fur texture as soft as possible.

In naming this piece, "When Life Gives You Lemons," I hope to put a spin on this common saying and further express the ways in which optimism and positivity can enter our lives.

This is a drawing of raindrops on a window looking out on a busy street. I heard a jazz tune that just felt like night rain on a busy street.

I chose to do a skeleton because I found them beautiful. Most people did Catrina's because of culture but mine was slightly less serious.

The piece is about a fairy whose wings had been torn apart and feels hopeless yet numb in a sort.

The main focus of my image are the mountains, but looking at the whole image, you can see that I have also included a few trees casting their reflection in the water.

I hope with this exploration that people walk away from this project and think about the damages humans cause not only to our planet but to the state where I live. Every time I walk out my door, I am greeted with the beauty of California and when I travel in the state; I see the elegance and grace of other parts of the state and the stain of destruction, loss, and devastation.

My artwork was a gift for my mother. I took what colors she wanted into consideration, and set out to try some new things with oil paints, which I don't have a lot of experience in.

I did it with a process which first I had to have an idea of ??what it was going to be about and what animal it would take to make it a spiritual guide and why it had to be that animal, in my opinion it was a cat because it shows a affection towards people without caring about the act of people towards him.

\When beginning an art piece, I usually start with a sketch to get my creativity flowing. Sketches help me to determine what exactly I want to draw or create before starting on the final art piece. It normally takes me a few different sketches to get my idea the way I pictured it on paper.

This piece was inspired by one of my closest friends. He has seen the worst of me but has stayed when no one else did.

My inspiration for my pieces come from the many parallels that the American school system shares with the American prison system. Additionally, the way the prison system determines under-privileged people’s futures by tainting criminal records or pulling out whatever financial foundation they had built with lawyer and court fees.

This painting is one of my first abstract pieces, and while creating it I got really deeply involved with the process. I purely used my hands as tools to paint with, feeling the different consistencies of the paint moving beneath my fingers.

This piece is inspired by the memory of my grandmother. In Hindu culture, a widely held belief is the idea of reincarnation, and when my grandmother passed away, we believe that her spirit manifested itself into the form of a hummingbird.

I took inspiration from Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak Which focuses on a child and his relationship with his parents and other creatures.

My artwork was reflected on The Shining, however, has ghosts and animals. This was shot in the art building hall where there are paintings on the wall. The paintings came out alive haunting the student.

The piece is inspired somewhat by an alien spaceship, with the long sprawling legs coming out of both the top and the bottom of the structure.

This pot was inspired by my own hand and glazed in simple white so as not to distract from the form.

The painting illustrates an issue in our environment today called “sea-level rise” AKA the result of thermal expansion. So, “What causes the sea level to rise?” There are many causes but the main cause is due to “global warming”.

Before starting this project, I was already looking forward to the process. I was thinking of the yellow patterns on the back as a street for some reason and that the belly looks like a party.
